Cox’s Bazar beach came alive with crowds of visitors on Friday, the weekly holiday, as tourists rushed to the shore to answer the call of the waves. 

The day began with bright sunshine, but by afternoon, dark clouds rolled in, followed by a refreshing spell of rain.

From Laboni to Sugandha and Kolatoli points, the beach buzzed with a festive mood. Some tourists played joyfully with the waves, while others rode horses along the shore, and many captured the mystical charm of the cloudy sea on their mobile phones.

Visitors said that after a busy workweek, they come to Cox’s Bazar to seek peace in nature’s embrace. The cloudy weather, they felt, added a mysterious beauty to the sea.

According to local hotel and motel owners, the influx of tourists began Thursday night, with most rooms fully booked by Friday morning.

Tourist Police sources said additional forces were deployed along the beach to ensure safety. Red flags were raised at several points as a warning, given the turbulent nature of the sea.

The daylong play of clouds, sunlight, and crashing waves filled the beach with energy and wonder. For many tourists, this cloudy Friday by the sea brought a rare sense of tranquility and joy.
