A new touch of natural beauty has bloomed along the scenic Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar. In the sandy soil, rows of green, spiny cactus plants have grown naturally. They do well in the salty air and coastal climate. These vibrant plants have quickly become a point of fascination for tourists.
Under the golden sunlight, the green hues of the cactus blend beautifully with the crashing waves of the sea, creating a stunning, almost surreal landscape. Many visitors are stopping their cars to take photos and videos beside the plants, sharing their moments on social media.
Tourists say the naturally grown cactus adds a fresh layer of beauty to Marine Drive. Some even call it a “green desert by the sea.”
According to locals, the cactus plants were not part of any planned plantation—they grew spontaneously in the sandy soil near the coastline. As they can survive with minimal water and in high temperatures, these hardy plants have flourished naturally.
Nature lovers believe that these cactus plants not only enhance the aesthetic charm of Marine Drive but also contribute to environmental balance and coastal preservation.
