The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has confirmed that there is no longer any possibility of squally weather over the northern Bay of Bengal and the country’s coastal areas. As a result, the local cautionary signal No. 3 has been withdrawn from all four maritime ports—Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra.
Assistant meteorologist Abdul Hannan from the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office confirmed the development on Friday morning (August 1).
Earlier, the signal had remained in effect at the ports through Thursday due to concerns over rough sea conditions.
With the warning lifted, weather conditions have started to improve in coastal regions, including Cox’s Bazar. Rainfall has ceased since Friday morning, and sunny spells have been observed in several areas.
Meteorologists have further noted that with no marine risk in effect, fishermen can resume their regular fishing activities without restriction.
