A day-long workshop on “Culture of Peace, Child Rights, and Protection” was held at the Uni Resort conference hall in Cox’s Bazar town, aiming to foster peace practices, raise awareness on child rights, prevent child marriage, and combat child abuse among adolescents.

Held on Monday (14 July), the workshop brought together 100 adolescent members from various youth clubs across Cox’s Bazar district. The event was organized by the international development organization World Vision Bangladesh and was moderated by Partha Pratim Bagchi, Mobilization and System Strengthening Officer at World Vision.

Speakers at the workshop emphasized that children today are not only aware of their rights but are also emerging as agents of change within their communities. They noted that workshops like these are helping develop leadership qualities among adolescents, while also underscoring the need for families, schools, and society to work collectively to ensure child protection and rights.

Among those present at the event were Lima Mary Rosario and Luiza Mondol, Mobilization and System Strengthening Officers at World Vision, William Sarkar, Finance Officer, Joyshree Pyuri, Advocacy Coordinator, journalist Zaved Abedin Shahin, and 100 members from various Child Forums and Youth Forums.
