Cox’s Bazar’s popular sports organisation, Zara Badminton Club, has been transformed into the newly inaugurated Zara Badminton Academy, boasting modern facilities and upgraded infrastructure. The academy aims to provide international-standard training for players of all levels.
The indoor academy features two standard badminton courts, and the Zara Inter-Badminton Tournament is set to kick off here from 1 February.
Club President Murshed Alam said, “Our club has now evolved into a full-fledged academy. With skilled and experienced coaches, regular training sessions will help players enhance their abilities and reach their full potential.”
Treasurer and journalist Aziz Rasel added, “Zara Badminton Club was launched nearly seven years ago by friends from the 2005 batch of various Cox’s Bazar schools. After playing outdoors for the first three years, the club has operated in an indoor facility for almost four years, hosting various events and training programs.”
The academy is located behind the Tourist Motel, next to Zara Convention Hall. Officials confirmed that anyone interested can enrol to play and train regularly in badminton.
With this new initiative, Zara Badminton Academy is expected to make a positive impact on Cox’s Bazar’s sports scene, encouraging more youth participation and promoting professional-level training in the region.
