The intense summer heat is taking a toll on everyday life. For several consecutive days, Cox’s Bazar has been enduring extreme temperatures, leaving the local population distressed. People are largely staying indoors, venturing out only for essential tasks.

Labourers, forced to work under these harsh conditions, suffer the most. The weather office predicts that the heat will intensify.

Abdul Hannan, the Assistant Meteorologist at Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Department, reports that the highest temperature recorded today is 36.5°C.

The relative humidity stands at 58%. A mild heatwave is currently sweeping over the region, with no significant change expected in the weather over the next 48 hours.

This scorching heat is not limited to Cox’s Bazar alone; across the country, the sky seems to be raining fire. The peak of summer has seen nature unleash its full intensity.

In a warning issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, it has been stated that the mild to moderate heatwave over the country will continue, and could intensify into a severe heatwave in some areas within the next 72 hours.
