The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised hoisting Local Warning Signal No. 3 at the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra, amid forecasts of squally weather conditions.
According to Mohammad Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, deep convective cloud formations have developed over the North Bay and adjacent areas. This could result in gusty winds affecting coastal regions and maritime ports.
“All fishing boats and trawlers currently in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice,” he added.
Meanwhile, under the current forecast, Cox’s Bazar is already experiencing rainfall accompanied by gusty winds, heightening concerns about deteriorating weather conditions along the coast.
