Manisha Shankar Paul, a promising karateka from Cox’s Bazar, has won a bronze medal in the Under-12 category at the 9th South Asian Karate Championship and the inaugural U-14 South Asian Karate Cup held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The tournament, part of the 2025 South Asian Karate circuit, took place at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, featuring over a thousand participants from six South Asian countries, including Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and the Maldives.
Bangladesh sent a team of 20 participants to the championship, with Manisha bringing pride to the country by securing a bronze medal in the Under-12 category.
Speaking from Colombo, Manisha’s father, Udayan Shankar Pal Mithu, said, “This achievement is the result of a month of relentless hard work and preparation. We are extremely proud of Manisha’s success.”
Manisha’s accomplishment has not only brought joy to her family but has also made the entire country proud.
