The Bangladesh Coast Guard has conducted a cleanup drive on St. Martin’s Island.
Speaking on Monday afternoon, Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque shared the update, noting that since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has remained committed to ensuring security and maintaining law and order along the country’s coastal and riverine areas while also working tirelessly to prevent environmental pollution.
As part of this commitment, a cleanup campaign was held on St. Martin’s Island on Monday, July 21, from 10 AM to 11 AM, led by the Coast Guard Ship Tajuddin. Members of the Coast Guard were joined by teachers and students from St. Martin BN Islamic School and College, local public representatives, and enthusiastic community members in the drive.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque further stated that such initiatives will continue in the future to protect the environment of the country’s only coral island, ensuring its natural beauty is preserved for generations to come.
