Tchoukball, a fast-growing sport gaining popularity in various countries, has made its way to the shores of Cox’s Bazar.

Played with a handball-like ball and teams of seven, the game stands out for its non-contact nature, making it safer than traditional contact sports like football or handball.

In celebration of Youth Festival 2025, the Bangladesh Tchoukball Association has launched a beach tchoukball training program in Cox’s Bazar.

The 15-day program was inaugurated on the Sugandha Beach on Thursday afternoon by Additional DIG of Tourist Police (Cox’s Bazar region), Apel Mahmud, who attended as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, the Additional DIG emphasized the role of sports in keeping youth away from drugs and violence, while also nurturing values of compassion and cooperation.

Nasir Ullah Lablur, the executive member of the Bangladesh Tchoukball Association, presided over the opening ceremony.

Other officials in attendance included General Secretary Kallol Dash and training coordinator Rayhan Uddin Rubel.

A total of 40 participants from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar are taking part in this two-week-long training program.
