Another giant Burmese python has been rescued in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. On Saturday (August 16) afternoon, the Forest Department recovered the snake from the house of Abdur Rahim at Napitpara in the Douchhari beat area of the upazila.

Locals said the python, about 10 feet long and weighing around 25 kilograms, had climbed a mango tree. When a woman spotted it and screamed, panic spread through the neighborhood. Douchhari Beat Officer Imdadul Hasan Rony promptly responded to the alarm and successfully captured the reptile.

“We arrived quickly after receiving the call from locals and rescued the python safely. It is a Burmese species, weighing about 25 kilograms and 10 feet in length. The snake is in excellent health and will soon be released back into the wild,” said Beat Officer Rony.

Notably, earlier on June 22, another Burmese python—measuring nearly 14 feet long and weighing 25 kilograms—was rescued from a residence at Kyllamora Baganpara in Ukhiya Sadar beat. It was released into the Douchhari reserve forest the following day.
