A scenic kashful (Kans grass) garden has recently come into view along the banks of the Bakkhali River in Cox’s Bazar following a government eviction drive. Every day, hundreds of visitors flock to the riverbank to enjoy its natural beauty.
However, many visitors are reportedly plucking the flowers, which poses a threat to the ecosystem.
In response, local volunteer and social organization Coxian Express has called for public awareness and protection of the garden. The group highlighted that kashful is not only a symbol of natural beauty but also plays a vital role in preventing riverbank erosion and maintaining ecological balance.
In a statement, Coxian Express called on visitors to enjoy nature without harming it, encouraged parents to teach children the importance of protecting the environment, and requested that local authorities and the media play a greater role in raising awareness.
“Nature is our shared resource. It is our duty to preserve it, not destroy it,” the organization said in a statement. “Let us work together to protect the kashful garden on the banks of Bankkhali for everyone to enjoy.”
