A team from the Dr Mostafa Hajera Foundation has visited the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, announcing plans to launch joint initiatives with the United Nations to support the displaced community.
During the visit on September 16, foundation representatives met with Rohingya residents, listening to their accounts of Myanmar’s brutal past persecution and the current hardships they face in the camp.
The report stated that thousands of children are deprived of education due to closed learning centres.
Although a few madrasas operate on a limited scale, the lack of resources has created an uncertain learning environment. Shortages of food rations, inadequate medical services, and unhygienic living conditions continue to make life in the camps a humanitarian tragedy, the foundation said.
Capt. AKM Golam Kibria, Chairman of MH Global Group, stated, “We heard the cries of the world’s most persecuted people. We cannot remain silent any longer. As part of our joint declaration with the UN, we will begin our activities this month.”
The delegation included Dr Ranjit Dastagir Rana and Inzamam Ul Haque of Embolden Bangladesh. The foundation’s mission was to provide sustainable, justice-based, and dignified support for Rohingya refugees.
