The sea remained rough today, prompting authorities to hoist red flags along Cox’s Bazar beach.
Despite this, the city is sweltering under intense heat, pushing tourists to seek relief in the water.
Most tourists bathe in the sea, particularly at the Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha points.
However, tourists are urged to follow safety guidelines before entering the water.
According to Sea Safe Lifeguard, only designated bathing zones—marked with red-yellow or red flags—are safe for swimming, as they are monitored by lifeguards. Bathing outside these zones can be dangerous.
Senior Lifeguard Supervisor Mohammad Osman of Sea Safe Lifeguard told Cox’s Bazar Life that several deep pits have formed along the shore, and rip currents have developed.
“The waves are quite high. Everyone should be cautious, check where lifeguards are stationed, and follow their advice before entering the water,” he added.
Today’s low tide occurred at 9:24 AM, with high tide expected to begin at 3:50 PM.
