With the slogan “Cleanliness Begins with Me,” volunteers from the BD Clean Team launched their fourth large-scale cleanup campaign in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, to promote community awareness and environmental responsibility.
On Friday (November 7), members of the organization took to the streets around Balukhali High School and the Hindupara area under Palongkhali Union, removing more than two tons of waste. Their effort set an inspiring example of civic responsibility for the local community.
Present at the event were Sabuj Sen, Headmaster of Balukhali Kashemia High School; Sirajul Monira Tumpa, Assistant Coordinator of BD Clean Cox’s Bazar District Team; and Rafi Anwar, a representative from the Teknaf Team. The Ukhiya team was led by Omar Faruk, with Mustafa Shaker Riad overseeing event coordination.
Participants emphasized that positive social change begins with individual accountability. “If everyone takes responsibility for their surroundings, we can build a cleaner, healthier environment,” one volunteer said.
The BD Clean Team continues to inspire action across the country by showing that true change starts not with words, but with hands-on work to keep communities clean and green.
