Ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election–2026, a briefing on the use of docking stations and body-worn cameras was held at Chakaria police station, where journalists were briefed on the technology’s operational procedures, effectiveness, and management.
Officer-in-charge of Chakaria police station Mohammad Monir Hossain explained in detail how body-worn cameras would be used during duty hours and how recorded footage would be handled through docking stations.
He said that the use of body-worn cameras would make police activities more transparent, accountable, and credible, while docking stations would ensure the proper storage, management, and, when necessary, review of recorded footage—an important tool for maintaining law and order and managing election-time duties.
The briefing also covered the district police’s overall security arrangements, law-and-order measures, and preparedness in the Chakaria area for the parliamentary election scheduled for February 12, to ensure a peaceful, fair, and neutral voting process.
At the meeting, police officials sought the sincere cooperation of journalists in maintaining overall security during the election period. They also urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and responsible in preventing rumours, misinformation, and any activities that could disrupt law and order.
