The jhau forest and adjoining seafront near Kabita Chattar in Cox’s Bazar are increasingly drawing visitors with their calm and captivating natural beauty.

Beneath the blue sky, rolling waves of the sea, and rows of jhau trees together create a peaceful, soul-soothing setting. Locals and tourists alike congregate in the Kabita Chattar area, especially in the morning and late afternoon.

Sea breezes drifting through the jhau trees, the calls of birds, and the rhythmic sound of waves provide mental relaxation for many.

Some tourists stop to take photographs, others spend time with family and friends, while many sit quietly, gazing at the sea and absorbing the tranquillity of nature.

Rohan, a tourist visiting the area, said, “The jhau forest at Kabita Chattar is beautifully maintained. Sitting here and looking at the sea makes me feel as if I’ve left all my worries behind. It offers a rare sense of peace away from the city’s bustle.”

Another visitor from Chattogram said, “I have visited Cox’s Bazar many times, but I haven’t felt this level of calm in the Kabita Chattar area before. Seeing the casuarina trees and the sea together is truly refreshing.”

Locals said that Kabita Chattar and the surrounding casuarina grove have further enriched Cox’s Bazar’s natural appeal.

Tourism stakeholders believe that with proper conservation and care, the area could develop into one of the city’s most attractive tourist spots.
