The Court Bazar furniture market in Uin the Ukhiyakhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar remains bustling throughout the year, driven by the combined efforts of skilled workers and traders.
Designers, finishing workers, shop owners, and employees are seen working relentlessly to keep pace with growing demand.
This market supplies furniture not only to Cox’s Bazar district but also to various parts of the country. The market has earned a reputation for producing wedding furniture, making it a trusted destination for many customers.
A recent visit to the market revealed high activity in every shop and workshop. Chairs were being crafted in one corner, dining tables in another, while elsewhere, artisans were busy making luxury beds. There appears to be a quiet competition among craftsmen to produce modern and attractive designs.
Locals said that Court Bazar is known as one of the largest furniture markets in Cox’s Bazar district, supplying both wholesale and retail furniture to different areas and towns.
Furniture shop owner Jahangir Alam said, “The wedding season is approaching, so we have already started producing new furniture. Products made here are sold from small villages to Cox’s Bazar town.”
Meanwhile, designer Limon Bura said that they continuously strive to create new and unique designs. “Beds are available here, starting from Tk 22,000 to more than Tk 200,000. We can also produce more expensive and customised designs based on customer demand,” he added.
