The district administration of Cox’s Bazar has issued a public notice directing all shopping malls, markets, shops, and billboard lights to be shut down by 7:00 pm to conserve electricity.

According to the directive signed by Deputy Commissioner Md. A Mannan on Thursday, all ongoing or scheduled fairs, trade fairs, and cultural programs in the district must also conclude by 7:00 p.m.

The decision has been made in the public interest following a government notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, aimed at reducing electricity consumption.

The administration cautioned that those who fail to comply with the directive will face strict legal action. It also urged residents and business owners to cooperate to ensure efficient energy use and protect national resources.
