After three months of intense labour, smiles of relief and joy have returned to farmers’ faces. Fields filled with ripened golden paddy are now being harvested as farmers in Ukhiya are busy cutting and threshing rice across rural areas. Recently, paddy harvesting and threshing activities have begun across different unions and villages of the upazila.

Farmer Abdul Kader from Goalia village said that the hardship of the past three months has finally paid off. He described bringing home golden paddy as the greatest reward for a farmer. He added that favourable weather conditions this season had resulted in a successful harvest, bringing smiles back to farming families.

Local farmers said that timely rainfall and suitable weather helped ensure healthy crop growth. As a result, this year’s yield is better compared to previous seasons. Fields are now bustling with activity as labourers and farmers work side by side—some cutting paddy, others threshing.

The rural landscape has taken on a festival atmosphere. Golden rice fields and smiling farmers have filled the entire area with celebration. Farmers hope that fair market prices for their produce will make their hard work fully worthwhile.
