The much-anticipated “47th National Science and Technology Week” and “Science Fair 2026” are set to begin in Cox’s Bazar on May 4 at the district level.
The district administration, with support from the National Museum of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, is organising the event.
As part of the programme, the 10th Science Olympiad and the 10th science-based quiz competition will be held, with participation from students of various educational institutions across the district.
Baitush Sharaf Jabbaria Academy School and College will host the inauguration ceremony and a science seminar on Monday morning. Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md A Mannan is expected to attend as the chief guest.
According to the district administration’s education and ICT wing, a range of initiatives have been planned to promote students’ interest in science and technology and to encourage innovative thinking.
The fair will include seminars, quiz competitions for secondary-level students, and the Science Olympiad, followed by the announcement of results and prize distribution.
The organisers hope the event will foster scientific curiosity among students and contribute to building a technology-driven future.
