A bumper yield of off-season local tomatoes has brought optimism to farmer Kasem Hossain in Pechar Dwip Village. Recently, large tomato fields were seen flourishing beside Rezu canal, highlighting the growing agricultural potential of the coastal area. Kasem said this was his first attempt at tomato cultivation in the village, and the strong harvest has encouraged him to expand production in the future. He also believes the sandy farmland near the dunes holds promising potential for watermelon farming.
