The lush greenery lining both sides of the Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram Highway has been captivating travellers and tourists alike, particularly along the stretch leading from Cox’s Bazar to Ramu.
Rows of rain trees, mahogany trees and various other species create a scenic corridor of greenery along the highway, giving the impression of a natural green boulevard carefully arranged by nature itself.
Even under the intense afternoon sun, the tree-lined road offers a sense of comfort and relief to travellers. Through the windows of moving vehicles, passengers can enjoy swaying green leaves, birds in flight and the striking beauty of the surrounding hills and landscapes.
The picturesque scenery also charms tourists arriving from different parts of the country, alongside regular commuters.
Local visitor Mahfuz Rahman said travelling towards Ramu felt like passing through a green tunnel created by nature.
“The environment is truly soothing. For a while, it allows people to forget the noise and stress of urban life and feel close to nature,” he said.
Another visitor said the trees enhanced the beauty of the highway and played an important role in maintaining ecological balance and providing comfort to travellers during the extreme heat.
Many tourists stopped their vehicles along the route to enjoy the scenery and take photographs.
Nature lovers believe the green surroundings along the Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram highway offer one of the country’s most visually appealing road travel experiences.
According to them, during the monsoon season the fresh greenery and cool breeze make the journey even more enchanting.
