A group of indigenous women from the Tanchangya community was seen gathering shellfish in the mangrove forest of Pechar Dwip Village. Moving through the coastal woodland, they collected shells and small molluscs from the muddy ground beneath the trees. The women said these shellfish are among their preferred traditional foods. Carried into the area by tidal waters, they become accessible after the tide recedes, allowing local residents to gather them from the exposed mud and forest floor.
