Domestic and foreign tourists are flocking to the scenic Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar to enjoy the beauty of the season’s first monsoon rains.
Tourists were seen gathering along the coastal road from the morning, taking in views of the rain-soaked sea and spending time with family and friends amid the area’s natural beauty.

The combination of rough sea waves, cloud-covered skies, and the lush green hills bordering the Marine Drive has created a distinctive monsoon landscape, offering tourists a different experience from the dry-season scenery.
Many tourists were seen taking photographs, sightseeing, and enjoying the coastal atmosphere despite the rain.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has officially entered Bangladesh through the Cox’s Bazar coast, marking the start of the country’s rainy season. Under the influence of the monsoon, rainfall has increased across the district and is expected to continue over the coming days, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Assistant Meteorologist Md Abdul Hannan of the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office said that the southwest monsoon had already become active over the coastal region.

He said that rough sea conditions were prevailing along the coast and that Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 remained hoisted at Cox’s Bazar Seaport. Rainfall activity is also expected to continue in the coming days, he added.
While the arrival of the monsoon has transformed the landscape of Cox’s Bazar, authorities have advised tourists and local residents to exercise caution when visiting beaches and coastal areas due to prevailing weather conditions.
