Continuous rainfall since late Sunday night left Sonar Para Sea Beach largely deserted on Monday, with both tourists and local residents staying indoors unless necessary. The usually lively beach saw only a handful of people as wet weather continued throughout the day. Local resident Nur Alam said the overnight rain also kept fishers from going to sea. He expressed hope that if the weather improves later in the day, tourists will return and the beach will once again become lively.
