Sayeman is a familiar name in the history of Cox’s Bazar’s hotel industry. Established in 1964, the hotel has carried its legacy for 62 years while adapting its accommodation and hospitality services to changing times.

Located in Baharchhara, Sayeman Heritage now combines that identity with modern facilities, including luxury suites, a swimming pool, spa services, restaurants and a fitness centre.

Sayeman began in 1964 as a hotel in Baharchhara and was then regarded as the first privately owned luxury hotel in Cox’s Bazar. It was established at an early stage of tourism development in the coastal town.

According to financial controller Asaduzzaman Nur, the name was selected by combining part of the name of Syedur Rahman, father of the late freedom fighter and engineer Mosharraf Hossain.

Modern suites and spacious accommodation

Sayeman Heritage offers five accommodation categories: Junior Suite, Premium Junior Suite, Primary Suite, Premium Primary Suite, and Heritage Penthouse.

According to the hotel’s website, the 600-square-foot Junior Suite accommodates two adults, while the 878-square-foot Master Suite accommodates up to four guests. The 2,670-square-foot Heritage Penthouse can accommodate up to six adults.

Room rates

According to the hotel’s published information for 2026, rates start at Tk15,000 per night. The Junior Suite costs Tk15,000, Premium Junior Suite Tk18,000, Master Suite Tk25,000, Premium Master Suite Tk30,000 and Heritage Penthouse Tk100,000 per night.

Depending on booking conditions, rates include breakfast, a welcome drink, Wi-Fi, in-room tea and coffee facilities, and airport transportation. Guests can also use the swimming pool and fitness centre for specified periods. Rates may vary by season, availability and special offers, so guests are advised to confirm the current rate before booking.

Dining, swimming pool and spa

The hotel’s 1964 Restaurant serves seafood, international dishes and local cuisine, while Cafe La Dolce Vita offers coffee and light refreshments. The Aqua Spa offers wellness services, including Thai massage and other treatments.

For business meetings and smaller events, the hotel also provides its Sanglap meeting facility, making the property suitable for business travellers as well as leisure guests and families.

Maintaining a legacy

Nur said Sayeman is a longstanding name in Cox’s Bazar’s hospitality sector, and that quality service and guest satisfaction remain priorities. He said the brand’s reputation and guests’ trust are among its key strengths, and that repeat stays encourage the hotel to maintain its standards.

Cox’s Bazar has seen a steady increase in hotels, motels and resorts, giving tourists more choices. Amid growing competition, Sayeman Heritage is seeking to maintain its position by combining its established identity with modern hospitality services.
