The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced today (October 7) the formation of a new seven-member Bangladesh Film Certification Appeal Committee, with the Cabinet Secretary appointed as its chairperson.
The committee will be convened by the Secretary of the Ministry of Information, who also serves as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board. The Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board will act as the member-secretary of the committee.
Other members include Professor Nistar Jahan Kabir from Jagannath University, Assistant Professor Habiba Rahman from Dhaka University’s Department of Film and Photography, documentary and film director Humaira Bilkis, and sound editor Nahid Masud.
The committee’s term will last for two years from the date of the notice. Its primary responsibility is to handle appeals from individuals or organizations dissatisfied with the decisions of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board.
