The observance of one of the most significant religious festivals for Buddhists, the Probarona Purnima, has begun in Cox’s Bazar.
Various Buddhist monasteries are following traditional rituals to mark the occasion. Sky lanterns have illuminated the sky in the evening.
However, the main celebration in Cox’s Bazar will take place tomorrow, Thursday.
On a visit to the Mahasingh Dhrongi Buddhist Monastery on Wednesday evening (October 16), it was seen that both police and army personnel had deployed strict security measures.
The festival of Probarona has drawn participation not only from the Buddhist community but also from people of other faiths, highlighting its inclusive and festive atmosphere.
