The Meteorological Department has lifted the remote cautionary signal no one from all four maritime ports.

The sea was rough on Wednesday due to a depression over the southwestern Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas. However, as the depression has subsided, the warning signal has been lifted on October 17 (Thursday).

A Wednesday morning bulletin stated that the depression, located over the southwestern Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas, crossed the northern Tamil Nadu-Southern Andhra coast at 8:00 AM and is now near north Chennai.

As a result, there is no longer a risk of strong winds over the seaports, the northern Bay of Bengal, or the adjacent coastal areas of Bangladesh. So, cautionary signals were lifted from Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra seaports.
