Prominent volunteer Sabrina Sultana has been recognized as the Best Volunteer of 2024 from Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila under the Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP), managed by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of the Government of Bangladesh.
As part of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2024, the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Auditorium in Dhaka hosted the award ceremony on December 24. The event honored outstanding volunteers from across the country, with the chief guest being Faruq-e-Azam, Bir Protik, advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, and CPP Director of Administration, Mr. Ahmudul Haq.
This year, a nationwide pool of 80,000 volunteers selected 42 women and 42 men, with Sabrina emerging as one of the top recipients.
While receiving the award, Sabrina expressed, “This recognition is not mine alone; it belongs to my entire CPP family. Supporting my community is my responsibility, and I hope this achievement inspires future generations to step forward in service.”
Sabrina, who hails from South Rumalia Chara in Ward 6 of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, is a political science student at Cox’s Bazar Government College.
She has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts for years as a volunteer for many prominent organizations.
