Despite the ongoing challenges in women’s football in Bangladesh, Shaheda Akter Ripa from Cox’s Bazar shines as a beacon of hope. The talented footballer has secured a spot among the first 12 players to contract with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).

A key member of Bangladesh’s SAFF Championship-winning team, Ripa has already made a name for herself with her outstanding performances. Not only is she a formidable defender, but her leadership qualities on the field also set her apart.

Her achievement is a matter of pride for Cox’s Bazar, where female participation in sports remains limited. Ripa’s journey can inspire young girls in coastal areas, proving that dedication and hard work can break barriers.

With an unwavering passion for football since childhood, she has made her way into professional football with her family’s and local coaches’ support.

However, the current crisis in women’s football presents new challenges for her. Overcoming these hurdles and returning to the field will allow her to showcase her talent fully. Fans across the country remain hopeful that Ripa and her teammates will once again bring glory to Bangladesh on the international stage.
