A two-day filmmaking workshop under the “Weaving Stories of Peace Through Camera – Peace Fellowship” was successfully held in Cox’s Bazar, bringing together 25 young aspiring filmmakers.

The workshop, organized by Films for Peace Foundation with support from the Canadian High Commission Bangladesh’s Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), took place at the Chakaria Peace Center on Friday.

Presided over by Parvez Siddiqui, Executive Director of Films for Peace Foundation, the workshop featured renowned filmmaker Masud Chowdhury, emerging film director Touhidul Islam Nadim, and cinematographer-video editor Rakib Hasan as trainers. Mariam Proma, Project Coordinator of Films for Peace Foundation, moderated the session, while Advocate Maruf Bin Kabir, the district coordinator of the organization, delivered the opening speech.

The seven-month fellowship program aims to equip 25 young participants from Cox’s Bazar with creative skills in storytelling, filmmaking, photography, and graphic design, empowering them to drive social change.

Speaking at the workshop, Parvez Siddiqui emphasized, “We are taking the creative potential of these 25 young minds to the next level. Their works will be showcased across different platforms in Bangladesh, inspiring audiences and spreading the message of peace and unity within communities.”
