A medical camp in Moheshkhali on Friday, February 21, provided essential healthcare services to over 70 salt farmers. Similar to previous camps, most farmers suffered from joint pain, dehydration, skin diseases, and heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke and respiratory issues.
In addition to healthcare services, a training session on advanced salt production techniques was organized with the support of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC). Thirty-one salt farmers participated, gaining insights into modern technology and improved methods to enhance their production process.
Innovision led the initiative under the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) project “Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for Women and Youth in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh (ISEC).” It was part of Cox’s Bazar Salt and Seaweed Market Systems Development Project, with ACI Super Salt as a proud partner and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) as a development collaborator.
This ongoing initiative aims to ensure better healthcare for salt workers while improving their production skills, contributing to their well-being and sustainable livelihoods.
