In a decisive stand against sexual violence and rape, the Youth Organization for Social Development (YOSD) organized a protest rally at the Ukhiya Central Shaheed Minar at 7 PM today. The demonstration aimed to raise public awareness and demand the highest punishment for rapists amid rising incidents of violence against women across the country.

The rally saw the participation of hundreds of young men and women, social activists, and concerned citizens, all united in their demand for justice. The air resonated with chants of resistance including “No more rape, we demand justice! No silence, we demand resistance!” “My sister’s tears—no more, no more!” “Unite Bangladesh, hang the rapists!” “In my golden Bengal, there is no place for rapists!” “Raise your voice, break the silence!”

Speakers at the rally emphasized the urgent need to end the culture of impunity. “Without the strict implementation of anti-rape laws and ensuring swift justice, women’s safety will remain at risk,” they warned. “If perpetrators are not held accountable, peace in society will never be restored.”

Following the speeches, participants lit candles in a solemn vigil, pledging to work towards a Bangladesh free from sexual violence.

Amid growing public outrage over the increasing incidents of rape and violence against women, YOSD’s protest rally has ignited fresh awareness and strengthened the resolve of the younger generation to stand up against injustice.
