The United States has delivered 17,000 metric tons of essential food aid for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, which arrived in Chattogram this week. The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka confirmed the shipment in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the food supplies, sourced from American farmers, will be distributed through the World Food Programme (WFP) to meet the urgent needs of over one million Rohingya refugees.

The embassy also emphasized the United States’ continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. It called on other donors and international partners to step up their efforts to ensure adequate assistance reaches those in need.
