A striking mural has recently been painted on a wall of Cox’s Bazar Government High School, boldly conveying the message “Free Palestine.” The vibrant artwork features the words “FREE PALESTINE FROM CGHS’IAN COX’S BAZAR” in bold, colorful letters. At the mural’s center is a powerful image of a raised fist—symbolizing resistance, solidarity, and the fight for freedom.
This impactful piece was created by Yeaseer Arafat, a former student of the school, who took the initiative to express solidarity with the people of Palestine through his art. On the mural’s left side, phrases like “TO GAZA” and “FREE GAZA” are painted, drawing attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In the image, a young child sits beside the mural with paint cans and brushes, reflecting how the artwork inspires interest and awareness in younger generations.
More than just a piece of street art, this mural stands as a heartfelt appeal from a young artist in Cox’s Bazar to the world, calling for justice, empathy, and global solidarity with the oppressed in Palestine.
Locals have praised the initiative, noting that such expressions of creativity and compassion are vital in raising awareness about international human rights issues. While the school authority has yet to make an official statement, the mural has already sparked positive reactions from the community.
Through art, humanity finds a voice—and this mural speaks loud and clear.
