As monsoon arrives, nature adorns itself with a signature touch — clusters of white-yellow Kadam blossoms, evoking both nostalgia and romance. Much like the beloved Bangla lyric “Ek guchchho kadam haate bhijte chai tomar shathe” (I want to get drenched with you, holding a bunch of Kadam), this flower has become a timeless symbol of affection and deep emotion.

Every year, with the first rains, the round, white blossoms of Kadam begin to bloom, charming passersby with both their beauty and delicate fragrance.

Specially adored by women, Kadam flowers hold a special appeal as tokens of affection. During this season, many seek them out as heartfelt gifts for loved ones.

From flower markets to roadside stalls in small towns, Kadam is everywhere. Some even carry bunches to scenic spots — including the beaches of Cox’s Bazar — to immerse themselves in the romance of rain and nature.

Nature lovers say, “Monsoon doesn’t feel complete without Kadam.” And indeed, in this season of rain and rhythm, the Kadam flower becomes not just a part of nature — but a cherished presence in the human heart.
