An advocacy meeting focused on enhancing household-level preparedness for disaster response was held yesterday in Cox’s Bazar. Organized by two non-governmental organizations, the session took place at the Horticulture Hall near the main bus terminal, with participation from several local CSR institutions.
The meeting was presided over by Project Coordinator Zainal Abedin. Among the speakers was Golam Sarwar, a representative from the NGO YPSA, along with other stakeholders who shared their insights.
Speakers emphasized that having a proactive and structured approach before a disaster strikes can significantly reduce the extent of damage and loss. They called for collaborative action between communities, local institutions, and NGOs to implement effective preparedness plans at the grassroots level.
