Abu Saeed Mohammad Suza Uddin, widely known as ASM Suza Uddin, has been appointed the head of the South Asia Cell of the National Citizen Party (NCP). 

The announcement was made on Saturday (September 6) through an official press release signed by the party’s Joint Member Secretary (Office), Saleh Uddin Sifat.

According to the release, Sultan Mohammad Zakaria has been appointed Secretary of the International Cell, while Alauddin Mohammad will serve as Joint Secretary. Additionally, Arif Sohel, Tahsin Riaz, Navid Nawroz Shah, Touhid Hossain Majumdar, Nusrat Tabassum, Monira Sharmin, and Mahbub Alam have been given responsibilities as members of the cell.

Suza Uddin has been actively working on South Asian affairs for nearly a decade. He has been key in researching and discussing the Rohingya crisis, India’s Assam NRC issue, and other regional matters. 

Alongside serving as a visiting scholar at three universities in the United States, he was also a fellow of a U.S. government leadership program.

He was recognized at Saudi Arabia’s Global Expert Program for his work on the Indonesian refugee contract issue. 

His research also includes the “Art of Identity” among Bangladesh’s diverse communities, such as the Santal, Sapure, and Bihari people. He has represented Bangladesh multiple times on international platforms since his student life.

With a career spanning over 15 leading global media outlets—including Reuters, The Telegraph, CNN, and The New York Times—Suza Uddin also holds extensive experience working as a field researcher alongside PhD scholars from around 15 universities worldwide, including Columbia University.

In addition, he has collaborated with more than 40 international donor organizations and has served as the head of an American institution in Bangladesh for an extended period.
