A two-day conference of the Bangladesh IT Professionals Association (BITPA) began in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday, with technology professionals stressing the need to develop new skills and use artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and productivity amid rapid advances in AI.
The BITPA Conference 2026, organised to mark the association’s 10th anniversary, began at the Long Beach Hotel in Cox’s Bazar. Digital financial services company Facet was the conference’s principal patron.

The two-day event features discussions on AI, technology-driven businesses, digital marketing, product design, workplace automation and future skills, with technology professionals from Bangladesh and abroad taking part.
More than 1,200 participants, 20 speakers and over 15 sessions are taking part in the conference.
At a session titled “From Bangladesh to the World: Building Global Technology Unicorns”, Facet Chief Growth Officer Saad Pal discussed the potential of Bangladesh’s technology sector in international markets.

Facet Bangladesh Country Lead Asif Nahin Taposh highlighted the importance of access to international work opportunities and professional networking.
Facet co-founder and CEO Mohammad Rafi Hossain, CX and Community Lead Hasnat Hannan Tamim, and Senior Product Manager Kazi Sajidul Hasan also attended the conference.
BITPA President Mojahidul Islam said the conference, organised to mark the association’s 10th anniversary, had created an opportunity for IT professionals to exchange knowledge, experience and business opportunities.
Speakers including Md Nahid Hasan Kaiser, Atik Foysal, Sharmin Khan Urmi, Zia Uddin Mahmud, Morshed Mishu and Rafayat Rakib also addressed different sessions.
Discussions also covered technology-related issues including foreign earnings, digital payments and financial management. Representatives from NRB Bank, Upay, SSLCommerz and SSL Wireless also participated.
On Sunday, the second day of the conference, participants will attend five practical training workshops. The workshops will provide hands-on training on client acquisition, local and cross-border e-commerce, AI-based marketing and modern product design, among other areas.
Organisers said the conference had created opportunities for technology professionals to connect with international markets, technology businesses and the digital economy while expanding their knowledge and professional networks.
