A new breastfeeding centre has been inaugurated at the Moheshkhali Jetty, an initiative spearheaded by A.S.M. Suza Uddin, central joint member secretary and Chattogram divisional organisational secretary of the NCP. The opening ceremony was held at 9 am today, with support from the Moheshkhali Upazila Administration and the local Union Hospital.

The newly established facility will allow mothers arriving from distant areas to safely breastfeed their infants and, if needed, take a temporary break in a secure, private space.

Speaking at the event, Suza Uddin said, “With the slogan ‘Aarār Hota, Aarār Hok’ (Our Rights, Our Voice), we are reaching out to the marginalised people of Moheshkhali to understand their needs and challenges. As part of this commitment, we have set up this breastfeeding centre at the Moheshkhali Jetty. I am neither a government official nor a businessman—I am a servant of the people, and I want to serve. Sanitary napkins will also be made available for women here.”

He further added, “Every child born in Moheshkhali is a leader. I want to remain your servant and continue serving you.”
