The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised all four seaports in the country to hoist local cautionary signal number 3. As a result, fishing boats and trawlers in the sea have been advised to proceed with caution.
The alert was issued in a weather bulletin by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh remains in place.
Due to its influence, a steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay, which may cause squally or gusty winds to sweep across the North Bay, the coastal regions of Bangladesh, and the seaports.
