Cox’s Bazar International University (CBIU), the district’s only private university, held a memorial and cultural event to honor the martyrs and survivors of the July Uprising. The event included discussions on the movement against discrimination in ’24.

The event took place on December 6 in the university’s auditorium. Students from various departments enthusiastically participated, and faculty members from multiple departments attended.

Professor Touhid Hossain Chowdhury, the university’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, presided over the program. The chief guest was the university’s founder and chairman, Lion Mujibur Rahman.

Moderated by senior journalist and the university’s Media and Public Relations Director, Imam Khair, the event featured special guests, including Professor Kazi Mostain Billah, Dean of the university; Hamidur Rahman, Acting Registrar; Khan Habiba Mustarin, Chairperson of the Law Department; and Dr. Ataullah Khaled, Chairperson of the Islamic Studies Department.
