A different mood has set in across the Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach as dense clouds blanket the sky and rough waves crash along the shoreline.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the dramatic seascape drew tourists to Laboni, Sugandha, and Kolatoli points from early Wednesday morning.

Some were taking photographs, while others stood at a distance, watching and listening to the roaring waves.

However, authorities have advised caution as the sea remains rough, with local warning signal No. 3 in force.

Lifeguards have been using loudspeakers to urge visitors to avoid entering the water and prioritise safety.

A tourist from Sylhet said he had never seen the sea in such a form before. “There is fear, but the beauty is difficult to ignore,” he said.

Another visitor from Chattogram described the experience as unique, shaped by strong winds and waves, though he refrained from going into the water.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next four days.

Assistant meteorologist Abdul Hannan reported a recorded rainfall of 43 millimetres in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00am, and he added that precipitation may increase further. He also warned of potential landslide risks in hilly areas.

Despite the unsettled weather, the pull of the sea continues to attract visitors, though authorities are urging them to remain cautious.
