A field drill under the Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP) was conducted in Ukhiya to enhance public awareness about disaster readiness.
The simulation exercise was organized on Saturday at Palongkhali High School field with the Department of Disaster Management and Relief’s support. The drill demonstrated key emergency responses, including fire extinguishing, landslide and earthquake risk mitigation, and immediate post-disaster actions.
Mohammad Hasanul Amin, Deputy Director of CPP Cox’s Bazar, presided over the event.
ATM Kawsar Ahmed, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, Dollar Tripura, Station Manager of Fire Service and Civil Defence, and other officials were among the speakers.
Teachers, students, volunteers from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, CPP members, and local residents attended the event.
