Fishers from different areas have been gathering at Pechar Dwip Village in search of small marine fish carried in by tidal currents. At the coastal stretch and nearby connected waters of the Reju khal, several fishers were seen standing in knee-deep water, casting nets to catch fish moving in from the sea. Due to the canal’s direct connection with the sea, fish remain available in most seasons, prompting fishers to move along coastal areas with nets in search of a steady catch.
