Lalon, a cobbler, spends his days repairing shoes beneath the traffic box at Sugandha Beach Point of Cox’s Bazar. Most of his customers are tourists, though some locals also visit his shop as well. Despite operating on the pavement for two months, Lalon says he hasn’t faced any demands for extortion.
