Striving mangrove forests emerge along the shoreline near streams and estuaries, submerged during high tide but becoming visible at low tide. These mangroves are home to a unique ecosystem where small sea creatures like clams and snails, locally known as “Lenja,” make their way into the forest waters during high tide. Members of some Indigenous communities in Cox’s Bazar collect these clams and snails from the mangroves as one of their favorite delicacies. These photos were taken from the CAMPiNCOX Beach point of Pechar Dwip.
