Cox’s Bazar district administration conducted a mobile court operation on January 16 in the Kolatoli Hotel-Motel Zone, targeting unhygienic food preparation and unlicensed hotel operations.

The drive, led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Masud Rana covered areas around Dolphin Square and neighboring locations.

Three establishments received a total fine of 22,000 BDT during the operation for operating without valid trade licenses and preparing food in unsanitary conditions. The sanitary inspector and food safety officer from the Cox’s Bazar municipality, police from the Sadar Model Police Station, and members of the Ansar force supported the operation.

In a parallel effort, the district administration’s mobile court cracked down on unhygienic food vendors across Cox’s Bazar. Between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, enforcement teams operated in areas such as Sugandha Jhau Bagan, Sugandha Entrance, Water Tank premises, and the Fish Fry Market near Sugandha Beach.

During the drive, they removed fifteen unlicensed vendor stalls and approximately 200 illegal hawker setups. One food vendor was fined for operating in unhygienic conditions.

Additional District Magistrate Imran Hossain Sajib led the operation, and the Tourist Police and Cox’s Bazar Municipality actively participated.

Authorities have stated that such drives will continue regularly to improve the overall environment of this key tourist destination and safeguard public health.
